Promotes fiscally responsible government and end to corruption

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – Republican Laura Hois announced her campaign for the 81st District of the Illinois House of Representatives today to promote fiscally responsible government and an end to corruption.

“The policies coming out of Springfield don’t represent our priorities or values. Instead of honesty and accountability, we see corruption and influence peddling. Representative Anne Stava-Murray promised independence from the status quo, but instead she voted in lock-step with Speaker Madigan for a higher gas tax, increased fees, and excessive spending,” Hois explained.

As the Town Clerk of Downers Grove Township and Deputy Assessor at Sugar Grove Township, Laura Hois implemented cost-saving initiatives and service improvements.

“We need effective leadership to deliver results for families in our community. We need a representative focused on lowering property taxes and keeping our communities safe. I will work with all parties to ensure our district can grow and thrive,” said Laura Hois.

Laura Hois was in-house counsel at the McDonalds Corporation for 19 years, where she served as a steady and responsible advisor to senior management on franchising and operations-related issues. Laura and her husband Billy live in Downers Grove and have raised four children.

The 81st is a western suburban district in Illinois that contains all or part of Bolingbrook, Darien, Downers Grove, Lisle, Naperville, Westmont, and Woodridge. In the 2018 election, the Republican candidate lost by less than two percentage points, making the 81st one of the most competitive districts in the state.
